A spinal surgeon sold his beachfront home in Ocean Ridge for $10.1 million.
Records show Ross Sherban sold the house at 5516 Old Ocean Boulevard to Steven J. and Eileen H. Simmons.
Dr. Sherban heads the Stuart-based Sherban Spine Institute, which has 11 locations in Florida. The institute provides treatment for cervical, lumbar and thoracic spinal conditions, according to its website.
Steven J. Simmons founded Patriot Media & Communications, a media and communications service provider based in Princeton, New Jersey. He founded the company in 2002, according to its website. He is also listed as chairman of Patriot Media Consulting.
Simmons was appointed governor on the Broadcasting Board of Governors by President George W. Bush. He served until 2010.
Records show Sherban and Irene Mogil purchased the 6,389-square-foot home on 0.7 acres for $5 million in 2018.
The two-story house was built in 1995, and Palm Beach County records show Sherban later made renovations, including an interior demolition, exterior alterations and the construction of a pool.
In 2019, the founder of advertising.com sold a waterfront home in Ocean Ridge for $5.6 million. A year prior, Freedom Mortgage’s founder and CEO bought a waterfront home in Ocean Ridge for $19.9 million.
