Lease roundup: Simon’s Dadeland Mall reaps leasing bonanza

Mall signs nearly 24K sf of stores and restaurants

Dr. Martens, Abercrombie & Fitch I Dadeland Mall

Simon Property Group is fresh off a leasing spree at Dadeland Mall in Kendall.

Seven new tenants set up shop and six more are slated to open by year-end for a combined 24,000 square feet at the mall at 7535 North Kendall Drive.

Eye Center Boutique and tech gear store Razer will open in February, and Spanish womenswear brand Bimba y Lola will open in March, according to a Simon Property Group news release. Fat Tuesday, menswear store Maceoo and restaurant Pei Wei are also opening later this year.

Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister Co., Miami HEAT Store, clothing store Scotch & Soda, Dr. Martens, Chimney Cake & Co. and Popeyes are already open, according to the release.

Dary Rees, Snaidero, More I DCOTA I Dania Beach

Charles Cohen’s Design Center of the Americas in Dania Beach leased seven showrooms for a combined 23,000 square feet.

Ecuadorian kitchen and cabinetry company Mundo Madeval; artist, art dealer and furniture maker Dary Rees; and kitchen and cabinetry company Snaidero signed new leases at DCOTA, 1855 Griffin Road, according to a news release from the landlord.

British textile, fabric and wallcovering firm Romo; textile and fabric company Holland & Sherry; textiles, wallcoverings, furniture, lighting and fine art showroom Ammon Hickson; and Brazilian kitchens and cabinetry manufacturer Florense renewed their leases.

The average size for each showroom is roughly 3,000 square feet.

Cohen owns the 800,000-square-foot office and design showroom DCOTA through his New York-based Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation of Florida.

Stephen Fredericks, leasing director for Cohen Brothers Realty, and Jaime Sturgis, of Native Realty, represented Cohen Brothers in the leases.
