Lease roundup: Piper Sandler opens West Palm office, DCOTA nabs tenants

Piper Sandler | West Palm Beach 

Investment bank Piper Sandler opened an office in downtown West Palm Beach

The Minneapolis-based financial services firm leased 6,000 square feet on the 10th floor of the Esperanté Corporate Center, according to architecture, planning and design firm HLW, which designed the office’s interior. Piper Sandler executives from New York will work in the new space, though the firm’s website still lists a New York office. 

Chad Abraham is CEO of Piper Sandler. 

The 20-story Esperanté building, at 222 Lakeview Avenue, was completed in 1989. It’s part of 

Stephen Ross’ expansive downtown West Palm office portfolio. His Related Companies purchased half of the ownership stake in the building for an undisclosed price in 2021. 

The Oncology Institute of Hope & Innovation | Miami-Dade and Broward counties 

The Oncology Institute of Hope & Innovation will open six new clinics across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. 

The cancer care provider leased 2,600 square feet in Fort Lauderdale; 2,600 square feet in Hialeah; 3,600 square feet in North Miami Beach; 4,000 square feet in Hollywood; 5,200 square feet in Miramar; and 4,200 square feet in Plantation, according to a news release from the tenant’s broker. The clinics are expected to open in the third quarter. 

The release didn’t specify the clinics’ addresses. But the institute’s website lists the following outposts as opening soon: 500 Southeast 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale, 7100 West 20th Avenue in Hialeah, 100 Northwest 170th Street in North Miami Beach, 3702 Washington Street in Hollywood, 3000 Southwest 148th Avenue in Miramar, and 6766 West Sunrise Boulevard in Plantation. 

The Oncology Institute recently opened a 2,900-square-foot outpost in South Miami, the release says. It’s at 6262 Sunset Drive, according to the institute’s website. 

Founded in 2007, The Oncology Institute has more than 60 medical offices across the U.S. and serves more than 1.7 million patients, according to its website. Daniel Virnich is president of the institute and Brad Hively is CEO. 

Dana Nialis and Angie Weber were part of the CBRE that represented the tenant in the leases. 

Custom Bath of Florida, Holzsch | DCOTA | Dania Beach

Charles Cohen’s Design Center of the Americas in Dania Beach scored two new tenants. 

Custom Baths of Florida will open this month in a 1,200-square-foot space, and wood importer Holzsch opened in March in a 1,600-square-foot space at 1855 Griffin Road, according to a news release from the brokers. 

Native Realty’s Jaime Sturgis and Kaley Tuning represented the landlord. The firm’s Sara Dorfman represented Custom Baths, and Dino Flora represented Holzsch.

BAS Holdings Investments | 545wyn | Wynwood

Real estate private equity firm BAS Holdings Investments opened an office in Wynwood

BAS leased 5,500 square feet at 545wyn at 545 Northwest 26th Street in Miami, where it will consolidate offices for the firm’s subsidiaries, including workforce development firm Redwood Dev Co, according to a company representative. One of its previous offices was at 2121 Northwest Second Avenue, also in Miami. 

Founded by Brian Sidman, BAS is a joint venture partner in Redwood Dev Co with Aventura-based lender and real estate investor Winston Capital Partners. 

Chicago-based Sterling Bay developed and owns the 10-story 545wyn. It was completed in 2021. 

GoodVets | Delray Beach 

Animal hospital GoodVets opened its second Palm Beach County clinic in Delray Beach

GoodVets signed a 10-year lease for 3,000 square feet at 5066 West Atlantic Avenue at Delray Landing, according to the tenant’s news release. The veterinary clinic’s other Palm Beach County outpost is at 9884 South Jog Road in Boynton Beach. 

Boca Raton-based Pebb Enterprises owns the Delray Landing plaza. It paid $10.5 million for it in 2021, records show. Ian Weiner is Pebb’s CEO.
