Waterfront homes proved popular with Miami-Dade County’s luxury real estate buyers this month.
Sellers in this trio of deals included a German music producer, a spec developer and a local real estate agent, records show. The sales ranged from $9 million to $13.6 million, spanning from Key Biscayne to Miami.
Records show health care boss Kenneth Funk bought a waterfront spec home in Belle Meade for $9 million. Funk bought the house at 769 Northeast 77th Terrace from STB Commercial Installation Services, a Florida entity managed by Omar Samalot, per property records.
Funk heads health care firm Elevation Group, which announced an operational partnership with CareTrustREIT in Atlanta, Georgia in May, according to a press release. Funk’s 0.2-acre Belle Meade home spans 5,400 square feet, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and one half-bathroom, the listing shows. The property has a pool, a dock and an elevator. Samalot bought the property for $1.2 million in 2021, records show.
June Savage of One Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing, and Sonia Toth of Brown Harris Stevens brought the buyer. The home was first listed for $9.5 million in March, Redfin shows. Belle Meade’s most expensive residential sale to date was a $13.3 million waterfront mansion deal in 2021.
On North Bay Road in Miami Beach, German music producer Frank Farian sold a waterfront vacant lot with plans for an 11,600-square-foot mansion for $13.6 million. Records show Farian, whose legal name is Frank Reuther, sold the land at 3100 North Bay Road to a Delaware LLC named for the address.
Farian, who started his music career in the 1960s, has produced albums for Meat Loaf and Far Corporation. He has also been reported as one of the architects of the Milli Vanilli lip-syncing scandal.
He bought the 0.5-acre North Bay Road home for $1.4 million in 2001, records show. It spans 100 feet of waterfront on Biscayne Bay. Rodrigo Barbosa of Premier Flat Fee Realty had the listing, and Mirce Curkoski and Albert Justo of One Sotheby’s International Realty brought the buyer. According to Redfin, Farian first listed the property for $16.5 million in 2021.

The music mogul also owns a home in Coral Gables, a 1300 Ponce condo in Coral Gables and a Green Diamond condo in Miami Beach, records show.
In Key Biscayne, One Sotheby’s International Realty agent Alina de la Vega Maclean sold her waterfront home for $11.5 million. Records show Maclean and her husband, Felipe Eduardo Maclean Hinojosa, sold their house at 200 Knollwood Drive to Asini LLC, a Florida entity managed by lawyer Leslie Rozencwaig. The true buyer is unknown.
Maclean and Hinojosa bought the 0.3-acre Knollwood Drive home for $3 million in 2017, records show. Built in 1978, the nearly 4,700-square-foot house has six bedrooms and six bathrooms, according to property records. The property includes a pool, a dock, staff quarters and a guest house, the listing shows.
Maclean had the listing, and first listed it for $13.8 million in April, Redfin shows.
