It’s back to school in the latest South Florida real estate hiring news.
The University of Miami Law School appointed Thomas F. Nealon as director of the Master of Laws in Real Property Development, according to a press release. Nealon previously served as the program’s interim director for a year, and has been an adjunct professor at the school since 1996, LinkedIn shows.
Nealon was vice chairman and director of legal affairs for LNR Partners, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based commercial real estate firm, from 1992 till 2018. In his new role, Nealon will oversee all aspects of UM’s program, which assists recent law school graduates and practitioners to further their expertise in real estate development, the release says.
The program’s advisory board also added three new members: Newland Capital Group partner Rocio Budetta, Lennar Homes Vice President of Land Acquisition Carolina Herrera, and Holland & Knight partner Hugo Arza. As members of the advisory board, Budetta, Herrera and Arza will assist the program by providing educational opportunities, according to the release.
Harvey Hernandez’s Newgard Development Group, a Miami-based residential developer, bulked up with two new senior level executives. Javier Cuadros joined the firm as SVP of development, and Stephanie Adames joined as SVP of marketing, according to the release.
Cuadros previously worked for 10 years with the Related Group as vice president of development, the release says. Adames comes to Newgard from a 23-year run with Interval International, the Miami-based timeshare group owned by Marriott Vacations Worldwide . She most recently spent seven years as its vice president of corporate marketing, according to LinkedIn.
In Boca Raton, Avison Young hired Patricia Nooney as principal and director of real estate management services (REMS) for the Florida market, according to a press release. In her new role, Nooney will oversee the strategic direction of the REMS platform and optimize property management teams’ performance, the release says.
Nooney most previously worked as president and principal of CRE Analytics Now, from March until recently. Prior to that she was an EVP with Madison Marquette for four years.
JLL brought in Zander El-Hindi to its Miami office as senior research manager for Florida, according to a press release. El-Hindi will conduct research and analysis for the agency’s leasing and tenant representation teams, which includes tracking market data across the office, industrial and retail sectors, the release shows.
He previously worked for Cushman & Wakefield for four years, most recently as a research manager, according to LinkedIn.
