It may be the holiday season, but South Florida real estate isn’t taking a break.

In the latest roundup of industry hiring news, Boca Raton-based Waramaug Hospitality named partner and principal Ferit Ferhangil the hotel investment group’s new CEO, according to a press release. Ferhangil succeeds Leslie Ng, who will move into the role of co-vice chairman of the board on Jan. 1.

Ferhangil joined Waramaug as a principal in 2021, LinkedIn shows. His other experience includes leading HazelStream Capital, a private equity firm focused on hotel property investment. He also spent more than 20 years as CEO of Miami-based developer Flagstone Property Group.

Waramaug owns a $1 billion portfolio of 60 hotels with more than 10,000 keys nationwide, the release shows.

The Corcoran Group is adding agent Shelly Newman to its Palm Beach office, the brokerage announced. Newman made the jump from William Raveis, where she was an agent for five years, according to LinkedIn.

Corcoran, led by CEO Pam Liebman, is beefing up its Palm Beach operations. In October, the brokerage brought in Marcia van Zyl to lead and expand its offices in Palm Beach and Martin counties, and appointed Ryan Fitzpatrick as the area’s regional vice president.
