Tech investor and Nvidia board member Harvey Jones paid $74.3 million for a waterfront estate in Palm Beach, in an off-market deal.
Property records show Candida Burnap sold the 10,467-square-foot, six-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom mansion at 740 Hi Mount Road. Jones, managing partner of the investment firm Square Wave Ventures, purchased the 1-acre property, according to the Palm Beach Daily News, which first reported it and to sources who confirmed it to The Real Deal.
In December, Burnap paid $13 million for a house at 271 La Puerta Way. Burnap is the daughter of late rancher and philanthropist Richard Ely Danielson Jr. Danielson was once the largest producer of lemons in California, and his great-grandfather was William Deering of the mechanical farming equipment company.
Chris Leavitt and Ashley McIntosh of the Leavitt McIntosh Team at Douglas Elliman represented the seller in the $74.3 million sale. Todd Peter of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer. The agents declined to comment on the deal.
The Hi Mount Road property marks one of the most elevated homes in Palm Beach. It fronts the Intracoastal Waterway and includes a dock. The property was previously sold in 1995 for $4.4 million. The mansion was built in 1999.
This marks the second purchase in Palm Beach for Jones. In July, he paid $50 million for the 7,500-square-foot, five-bedroom house less than a mile away, at 940 North Lake Way. He had the house demolished, and the 0.8-acre waterfront lot is on the market with Todd and Frances Peter for $55 million.
Jones joined the board of Santa Clara, California-based Nvidia in 1993, but recently made headlines after he and other board members sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stock in the AI microchip manufacturing firm. Jones sold stock worth $53 million, according to the New York Post.
