A waterfront mansion in Bay Harbor Islands traded for $18 million, marking a record single-family home sale in the bayfront town.
Records show Bay Harbor Land 2019 LLC, led by Jose Gregorio Breindembach Ziegler, sold the 8,500-square-foot home at 9530 West Broadview Drive. Breindembach is a construction executive from Venezuela, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
Lindsey Keats Corp., a Delaware entity managed by Brazilian race car driver Claudio Dahruj, acquired the property. The same company sold a unit at the St. Regis Bal Harbour in March for $3.5 million.
The six-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom house in Bay Harbor Islands, built in 2022 by Gamma Construction, was designed by Choeff Levy Fischman with interior design by CBDesign, according to the listing. It features a gym, wine room, pool and private dock.
Jill Hertzberg and her son, Danny Hertzberg, of the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker represented the seller. Matias Alem and Sergio Balinotti at BRG International represented the buyer.
Bay Harbor Land 2019 LLC paid $3.7 million for the 0.3-acre lot in 2019, according to property records.
The new house has been on and off the market for years. It was listed for $25 million in 2022, and most recently was asking $19.9 million.
Despite the slowdown in sales as a result of high interest rates, brokers are reporting increased activity for properties at the high-end of the market. The Jills Zeder Group is listing an assemblage of waterfront land on La Gorce Island in Miami Beach that recently went into contract, according to the MLS. It is asking $132 million, down from the original asking price of $170 million.
A cluster of new projects are planned for the two-island town of Bay Harbor Islands, which is immediately north of Indian Creek Island and west of Miami Beach. Last month, Regency Development Group launched sales of its third condo project in the town, called La Maré Bay Collection at 10301 East Bay Harbor Drive. In November, Ari Pearl and Jonathan Leifer launched sales of their planned eight-story, 44-unit Bay Harbor Towers.
In January, developer Bruce Eichner secured a $90 million construction loan for his fully presold eight-story, 68-unit La Baia South condos in Bay Harbor Islands.
