Movers & Shakers: Danilo Tavares Jumps to Corcoran

In the latest roundup of South Florida real estate hiring news, an agent who assisted with Jeff Bezos’ move to the Miami area is switching brokerages.

Danilo Tavares is jumping from Douglas Elliman to the Corcoran Group, according to a press release. Tavares worked with Elliman’s Dina Goldentayer on billionaire Jeff Bezos’ $79 million purchase of a waterfront Indian Creek Village mansion. The agents represented both the buyer and seller in the deal. It was Bezos’ second of three purchases on the island, where his total spending equates to $237 million

Tavares spent nearly three years with Elliman, according to LinkedIn. He will be based at Corcoran’s Surfside office, the release shows. 

In other Elliman news, the brokerage’s public relations director Ashley Holland left to launch her own firm, Holland Public Relations, according to a release. Holland worked in Elliman’s public relations department for more than six years, and will remain focused on South Florida real estate clients.

She is working with Gary Pohrer, Nick Malinosky, and Devin Kay’s Exclusive Group, Senada Adžem, Darin Tansey, and Lourdes Alatriste, all agents with Elliman, the release shows. 

Law firm Clark Hill brought in Fort Lauderdale-based attorney Drew Melville to its real estate practice, according to a press release. Melville represents real estate developers, investors, and corporate clients across asset classes, the release shows.

He previously worked independently for nine years, focused on commercial real estate deals and land use.
