Packaging mogul D. Greg Horrigan sold a waterfront estate in North Palm Beach’s Lost Tree Village for $19.6 million in an off-market deal.
Records show Horrigan and his wife, Judith Horrigan, sold the house at 11165 Old Harbour Road to Peter and Jean Scannell.
James Kenny and Paul Kaneb of K2 Realty represented both the buyers and sellers in the deal, a representative for the agents confirmed. They declined to comment.
Peter Scannell is president of Rockwood Service Corporation, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based holding company for a portfolio of materials engineering and testing firms around the world.
D. Greg Horrigan co-founded Silgan Holdings, a publicly traded packaging company based in Stamford, Connecticut. The firm generated $1.3 billion in revenue in the first quarter of this year, according to published reports. His shares in the company are worth more than $600 million, according to published reports.
The Horrigans bought the Old Harbour Road estate for $6.4 million in 2007, records show. They built the nearly 6,000-square-foot house on 1.2 waterfront acres in 2009, according to property records. The home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, one half-bathroom, a pool and a dock. It spans 115 feet along Lake Worth, the listing shows.
The property, while not listed in the Multiple Listing Service, was asking $18.5 million according to K2 Realty’s website.
Lost Tree Village is a gated coastal golf community favored by Palm Beach County’s affluent buyers. Built on 450 acres in 1961, its best known resident, golf legend Jack Nicklaus, also designed the golf course.
In December, financier Michael Johnston sold his Lost Tree Village house for $16.3 million. Last May, the estate of late developers Mary and William Ryan sold their oceanfront estate for $25 million. That same month, a hedge funder dropped $14 million on a mansion in the community.
