Raymond Mirra Jr., a pharma executive and ex-husband of convicted killer Gigi Jordan, sold his oceanfront Hillsboro Beach mansion for $18.5 million, down from $20.4 million he paid for it in 2020. The deal marks a rare loss in a market defined by its consistent price growth.
Records show Mirra and his current wife, Shauna Mirra, sold the house at 1001 Hillsboro Mile to Michael and Tina Brooks.
Lourdes Maestres and Joshua Cosenza of Compass had the listing, and John Putzig and Susan Nelson of Re/Max First brought the buyers.
The Brooks also own a waterfront home at 2457 Northeast 26th Street in Lighthouse Point that they bought for $5.8 million in 2022, records show.
Raymond Mirra Jr. is a pharmaceutical mogul from Philadelphia, according to published reports. He was the first husband of Jordan, another pharmaceutical executive, who was convicted of manslaughter in 2014 for killing her eight-year-old autistic son in 2010. She was sentenced to 18 years in prison, but committed suicide in 2022 during a retrial, the New York Post reported.
Mirra and his current wife bought the Hillsboro Beach house for $20.4 million in 2020, property records show. The 8,800-square-foot mansion was built on 0.7 acres in 2015, and includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and four half-bathrooms, the listing and records show. The property spans 200 feet of both oceanfront and the Intracoastal Waterway, according to the listing.
The Mirras listed it for $28 million in June, Redfin shows. They dropped the asking price to $25 million in January.
Even with the loss, the deal marks Hillsboro Beach’s priciest sale of the year to date. In April, a tech CEO sold his oceanfront home for $18.4 million.
Last year, a buyer linked to a Canadian commercial real estate firm dropped $19.2 million on an incomplete oceanfront mansion.
