Dollar volume totaled $6B, up from $4.9B, year-over-year

South Florida home sales picked up in April.

Following a steep drop in sales in March, deals rose last month, along with prices and dollar volume, according to data collected by the Miami Association of Realtors. Total sales dollar volume hit $6 billion, up from $4.9 billion in April of last year

Miami-Dade County

Total home sales in Miami-Dade County jumped 5 percent, year-over-year, to 2,342 closings in April. Single-family home sales surged 7 percent to 1,065 deals, and condo sales rose 5 percent to 1,277.

Median prices for single-family homes increased 9 percent to $654,000. Condo median prices rose 7 percent to $444,000.

Total dollar volume in the county reached $2.2 billion. Dollar volume for single-family homes ballooned 30 percent to $1.2 billion, and condo dollar volume similarly swelled 28 percent to $1 billion.

Broward County

In Broward County, total sales rose 6 percent, year-over-year, to 2,538 deals. Single-family homes jumped 11 percent to 1,196 closings. Condo sales increased 2 percent to 1,342.

Single-family home median prices surged 10 percent to $635,000. Condo prices jumped 5 percent to $282,500.

Broward’s total dollar volume hits $1.5 billion. Single-family home dollar volume swelled 26 percent to $1 billion, and condo dollar volume grew 4 percent to $496 million.

Palm Beach County

Total sales in Palm Beach County increased 5 percent, year-over-year, to 2,568 deals in April. Sales of single-family homes surged 11 percent to 1,402. Condo sales dropped slightly by 1 percent to 1,166 closings.

Median prices for single-family homes jumped 11 percent to $650,000. Median condo prices rose 12 percent to $340,000.

Palm Beach County’s dollar volume totaled $2.3 billion. Single-family home dollar volume ballooned 28 percent to $1.6 billion, and condo dollar volume grew 8 percent to $696 million.
