The Trump Organization is reviving plans to expand Trump National Doral Miami, with up to 1,500 luxury condos and commercial space.
An affiliate of Donald Trump’s firm is seeking a zoning change for 56.4 acres of the property at 4400 Northwest 87th Avenue in Doral to the city’s downtown mixed-use zoning. Trump Endeavor 12 LLC will go before the Doral City Council for first reading on Wednesday. Trump is now proposing 1,498 residential units and about 142,000 square feet of commercial space that would be built in phases.
Last year, Trump secured a land use change allowing for about 1,400 residential units on the same portion of the property, which is made up of parking lots. In 2022, Trump proposed more than 2,200 residential units.
The expansion would not be built on the golf course or resort portion of Trump National. Trump bought the property, home to the famed Blue Monster golf course, out of bankruptcy for $150 million in 2012. Trump said his firm spent $250 million in renovations.
Attorney Felix Lasarte, who is representing the developer in its latest proposal, said the project could be built in five phases, with about 300 luxury condos in each phase. The Trump-branded units would start at more than $2 million.

Sales could begin next summer, depending on the permitting process. About 20 three-story or four-story townhouses could be built on the golf course that would be more expensive than the condos, Lasarte said.
The majority of the commercial space would be retail and high-end restaurants.
Lasarte said neighbors surrounding the property support the development. The expansion would be built on the southeast portion of Trump National. The property is northwest of Miami International Airport, near the mixed-use developments Downtown Doral and CityPlace Doral.
