It may be the dog days of summer, but South Florida real estate firms are still making moves. 

Andrew Sossen is returning to Miami Beach-based Starwood Capital as its COO and senior managing director, according to a press release. Sossen had been with the firm for 14 years before resigning in May of last year to work for a private equity firm, according to the release and Law360. In his previous position at Starwood, Sossen was COO of its subsidiary, Starwood Property Trust, as well as general counsel, chief compliance officer and EVP of Starwood Property. 

In his new position as COO of Starwood Capital, Sossen will oversee day-to-day operations of the company and sit on the firm’s executive committee, the release shows.  

In Boca Raton, Colliers brought in Caroline Fleischer and Darcie Lunsford as senior vice presidents, a press release shows. Fleischer and Lunsford will both focus on office leasing in their new roles, according to the release. 

They each come to Colliers from Butters Realty & Management, where they were executive vice presidents. Prior to working in commercial real estate, Lunsford reported on the industry for the South Florida Business Journal, the release shows. 

In Palm Beach Gardens, Eastwind Development added Adam Schmitt as vice president of asset management, according to a press release. In his new role, Schmitt will lead asset management strategies for the firm. He was previously vice president of asset management at Pebb Capital for five years, according to LinkedIn.

The law firm Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas added senior attorney David Kim to its Boca Raton office, where he will focus on community associations, according to a press release. Kim previously founded a boutique law firm focused on representing community associations, the release shows.

In agent moves, Derek Barra jumped from Douglas Elliman to Coldwell Banker Realty in Boca Raton, according to a press release. Barra has closed more than $100 million in career sales, and sells across asset classes in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach, Highland Beach, Manalapan, and Fort Lauderdale, the release shows. 

Romina Grinberg joined the Ivan and Mike Team at Compass in Miami, according to a press release. Grinberg has closed more than $70 million in deals in the past three years, the release shows.

Brown Harris Stevens brought in Ariadna Romero Jurjo, Vicki S. Li and Matthew Huston to its Miami Beach office, according to a press release. 

Fortune International Group’s Jannine Sayago-Gonzalez was tapped as sales director for Okan Group’s planned Okan Tower in downtown Miami, a press release shows.
