A trust tied to waste management boss Brendan Pantano bought a $19.8 million non-waterfront spec mansion in Boca Raton’s priciest neighborhood, Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club.
Records show Pantano’s trust bought the house at 1654 Sabal Palm Drive from Steve and Scott Dingle’s Boca Raton-based SRD Building, the most prolific spec developers in the gated community.
David Roberts of Royal Palm Properties represented both the buyer and the seller in the deal. Roberts was the top agent in The Real Deal’s 2023 ranking of Palm Beach County brokers, with $349.8 million in on-market sales.
Pantano is CEO of Boca Raton-based Coastal Waste, a waste management firm that operates in Davie, North Miami Beach, Pompano Beach, Lantana, Coral Springs, Cooper City and Oldsmar, according to its website.
The Dingles have made a career of churning out spec mansions in Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club for Boca Raton’s monied set. They bought the 0.4-acre Sabal Palm Drive property for $4.4 million in 2022, according to records. They completed the 8,800-square-foot mansion earlier this year, the listing shows. The home includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, and a pool.
The Dingles listed it for $19.8 million in February.
Royal Palm’s luxury real estate market boomed this year, fueled by a string of pricey mansion sales early in the year. The Dingles set a record in April when they dropped $36 million on a waterfront teardown, topping the $29 million Boca Raton record set in February. Also in April, hotelier Mikhail Avrutin sold a spec mansion for $28.5 million. A trust sold another spec mansion for $26.5 million that same month. In July, a waterfront mansion the Dingle brothers built sold for $28.5 million.
