OneWorld Properties Hires a Pair of Senior Vice Presidents

Real estate firms are beefing up their leadership in South Florida in the latest roundup of industry hiring and personnel news. 

In Miami, Peggy Olin’s OneWorld Properties hired Uri Vaknin as senior vice president of strategy and innovation and Rebecca Ponce Eidelstein as senior vice president of marketing, according to a press release. Vaknin was previously a senior vice president with The Beechwood Organization in New York, and will be responsible for driving growth and operational efficiencies and leading OneWorld’s push into new markets. Ponce Eidelstein joins the firm from the Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons, where she was a director of marketing communications, according to LinkedIn. In her role with OneWorld Ponce Eidelstein will lead the firm’s marketing efforts. 

Colliers added Michael Carpenter as a vice president in its Fort Lauderdale office, according to a press release. Carpenter focuses on retail sales and leasing, and worked with tenants like Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread and Wal-Mart. He joins Colliers from Stiles Retail Group, where he worked for nearly 13 years, according to LinkedIn. 

Colliers has been expanding its South Florida presence, and in August brought in Zach Feldman as a senior vice president in Boca Raton.

In other commercial brokerage news, Lee & Associates added Michael Hinton as a principal in its Miami office, a press release shows. Hinton joins the firm from Apex Capital Realty where he was a senior associate. Hinton is also the president-elect of the Florida chapter of the Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute.  

Hollywood-based Macken Companies named Jodi Macken as the broker of its Macken Realty division, a press release shows. Macken has worked with her family’s firm for 35 years, and was most recently the director of the brokerage arm. In her role, she will oversee the firm’s 300 agents across its five offices in Aventura, Doral, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Orlando. 

In Fort Lauderdale, Premier Protection Insurance Services hired Dr. David Fariss as chief operating officer, a press release shows. Fariss in his new role will be responsible for steering the firm’s insurance strategies to support real estate entrepreneurs, brokers, lenders and investors, and help them protect the value of their real estate investments. He was most recently an executive coach at Inter-active Minds LLC, according to a spokesperson.

Cameron Weil joins the law firm Polsinelli as a shareholder in its real estate practices in both New York City and Miami, a press release shows. Weil was previously a partner at Seyfarth Shaw in New York City for almost four years, according to LinkedIn. He specializes in representing investors, sellers, buyers, owners and lenders in real estate and related capital markets. Weil also advises clients on Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs), real estate investment trusts (REITs) and opportunity zone (OZ) funds.
