The longtime Miami Beach estate of late Continental National Bank co-founder Charles Dascal is staying in the family.

Records show Jacqueline Dascal Chariff, as trustee of her mother Fanny Dascal’s estate, sold the mansion at 1470 Daytonia Road to an LLC named for the address. The buying entity is managed by her sister, art collector Elizabeth Dascal, and brother-in-law, Vladimir Spector.

Dascal Chariff’s daughter, Gabriella Chariff, and Carlo Dipasquale of Compass had the listing, and Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer.

“We had a signed offer from another buyer, but ultimately one of the family members decided they did not want to part ways with the home,” Gabriella Chariff said in a statement.

Charles Dascal co-founded Continental National Bank in 1974 with fellow Cuban exile Bernardo Benes, making it the first Cuban American-owned bank in the U.S. Dascal also co-founded the car dealerships Midway Ford Miami, South Motors and Vista Motors, which are today some of the largest car dealer groups in Florida. The family sold South Motors and Vista Motors to Tampa-based Morgan Auto Group in January, according to a press release. First National Bank bought Continental National Bank in 2019.

Charles Dascal died in 2013, and Fanny Dascal died last year.

The couple bought the 0.8-acre Daytonia Road estate for $125,000 in 1974, property records show. They built the nearly 14,100-square-foot mansion in 2008, according to records. It has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, one half-bathroom, a gym, theater, pool and spa, as well as 225 feet of waterfront and two docks, according to records and the listing.

The estate listed for $36 million in December, and had three subsequent price cuts, Realtor.com shows.

The deal closed following David and Victoria Beckham’s record $72 million waterrfont spec mansion purchase on Miami Beach’s North Bay Road. Also in Miami Beach this month, billionaire Fashion Nova founder Richard Saghian bought a waterfront spec home and non-waterfront house on North Bay Road for $30 million. Hovnanian Enterprises CEO Ara Hovnanian also bought a Miami Beach home for $10.8 million earlier this month.
