National homebuilder PulteGroup is planning a 42-unit luxury single-family home community in Wellington.
The developer’s luxury division, DiVosta, just bought the 22.5-acre site from the Catholic Church for $11.7 million, a spokesperson confirmed. The land is an unused portion of the 39 acres the church owns at its St. Therese De Lisieux Church at 11800 Lake Worth Road, adjacent to the gated community, the Isles at Wellington. The church will remain in its current location, according to the PulteGroup spokesperson.
DiVosta is planning the 42-unit Canter community on the site, which equates to just over $279,000 per homesite. The houses will span 3,300 square feet to 5,400 square feet, with prices starting at $1.5 million, according to a press release. Construction will begin in 2025, and the homes are expected to be completed in 2026.
PulteGroup is headquartered in Atlanta and led by CEO Ryan Marshall. The firm has been a prominent player in the single-family development boom in Palm Beach County. In April, Pulte bought 36.5 acres near Lake Worth Beach for $22 million, where it plans to build 108 single-family homes. In May, the homebuilder announced plans for a 145-unit single-family home community near Wellington dubbed Amara, with prices starting at $1 million.
Wellington has been a particular magnet for development activity. The village is home to the Winter Equestrian Festival, the largest and longest equestrian competition in the U.S. and a hub for the international equestrian community.
Homebuilding giant Lennar paid $54 million for 172 Wellington homesites last month. In August, luxury spec developer Joe Farrell launched sales for a 27-unit single-family home project in Wellington’s Palm Beach Polo & Country Club, with prices starting at $6 million. Developer Mark Bellissimo won approval for a controversial 600-acre project in the village earlier this year, and struck a deal in October to buy back Wellington International, the site of the Winter Equestrian Festival.
