The longtime owner of a waterfront home on Miami Beach’s North Bay Road sold it for $26 million in an off-market deal.
Records show Sandra Cook sold the house at 2410 North Bay Road to a Florida LLC named for the address and managed by local attorney Jeff Lowe. The true buyer is unknown.
Cook has lived in the North Bay Road home for decades. She and her late husband, J. Harmon Cook, bought the house for $350,000 in 1980, according to property records.
The 5,600-square-foot house was built in 1928 on a waterfront half-acre lot, records show. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a pool, according to property records.
The deal marks the latest pricey sale on North Bay Road in recent months. Waterfront vacant lots and teardowns have proven popular with buyers this busy season. Earlier this month, the family of a late hospital developer and bingo magnate sold a waterfront teardown for $22 million. Developer Andres Isaias also recently dropped $17 million on a different waterfront teardown. Another developer, Philippe Harari, bought a waterfront lot for $17.5 million in March.
The biggest recent teardown deal on North Bay Road has yet to close. Spec home developer Todd Glaser and his partners are in contract to buy a 2.3-acre waterfront estate for $105 million. Glaser said he will either renovate and list it for at least $150 million, or tear it down and build a spec mansion for between $250 million and $300 million.
