In the latest roundup of South Florida hiring news, Colliers makes a key hire in response to Florida’s growing condo crisis.
The firm tapped Vanessa Da Rocha as director of its Southeast Project Management and Development Services team, according to a release. In this role, Da Rocha will head Colliers’ Condominium Capital Improvement Management Program, which is designed to assist older buildings with structural upgrades, reserve initiatives and construction management as they seek compliance with new state safety regulations.
Da Rocha joins Colliers from the Falcon Group, an engineering, architectural and energy consulting firm where she worked as a senior project manager in its South Florida office, according to LinkedIn. She is experienced in large-scale restoration and recertification projects, according to the press release.
JLL brought in Daniel Gardner as vice president on its retail team, according to a press release. Gardner will be based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office and will focus on retail tenant and landlord representation, the release shows. He has worked with brands such as Walmart, Chick-fil-A, Ulta and Five Below.
Gardner previously spent four years at Katz & Associates, where he was most recently a director, according to LinkedIn.
The news comes on the heels of JLL bringing in two new tenant representatives into its Miami office last month.
The design firm Mancini Duffy named Brian Ahern as its West Palm Beach studio director, according to a press release. Ahern’s experience includes design work for the Trump Organization, Witkoff Group and Related Companies, including at Related’s planned Shorecrest condo project and its recently completed apartment tower, the Laurel, both in West Palm Beach. He was most recently a studio director with Melhorn Architecture & Construction in Jupiter, according to LinkedIn.
Miami-based One Sotheby’s International Realty added a 14-agent team in Brevard County, according to a press release. David Curri and his namesake team are joining the brokerage under the new banner, David Curri Coastal Group, the release shows. They will retain their office at 330 Fifth Avenue in Indialantic.
The team has closed more than $737 million in sales in the past decade and serves markets from Satellite Beach to Melbourne Beach, according to the press release.
