The momentum slowed in Palm Beach County’s luxury market last week, but buyers are still signing pricey contracts as the busy season persists.
Buyers signed 21 contracts between Jan. 19 and Jan. 25 for luxury properties in Palm Beach County, according to Douglas Elliman’s Eklund-Gomes team. The homes that went pending last week total $132.5 million in asking dollar volume and averaged 93 days on the market. The previous week, buyers signed 40 contracts totaling $324.7 million.
The report tracks signed contracts for single-family homes and condos asking $3 million or more in the Beaches MLS. It identified 93 new listings, and 1,265 active listings on the market.
Of the properties that went pending last week, 15 were single-family homes, and six were condos. The average asking price for the condos was $7.9 million, or $2,457 per square foot. They spent an average of 120 days on the market.
The average asking price for the single-family homes was $5.7 million, or $1,238 per square foot, and they spent an average of 65 days on the market.
The most expensive listing to go into contract last week was unit 1801 at the Bristol, at 1100 South Flagler Drive, asking $23.5 million. Records show the seller is Raymond Golden, a former executive with defunct investment bank Salomon Brothers and the CBRE-owned developer Trammell Crow Company. Golden bought the unit with his wife, Linda, in 2018 for $10.4 million, a West Palm Beach price record at the time.
The unit spans 5,700 square feet, four bedrooms, four bathrooms and one half-bathroom.
They listed the unit for $25.5 million, or $4,474 per square foot, in April, according to Zillow. Samantha Curry with Douglas Elliman has the listing.
The next most expensive listing to find a buyer was the compound at 256 and 262 Cordova Road in West Palm Beach’s El Cid neighborhood, asking $12.6 million.
Records show the seller is Rebekah Alfond, the founder of Marie Birdie, a golf apparel brand for children and teens. She bought the homes for $8.4 million in a pair of deals in 2021 and 2024. The properties total 0.4 acres with one 1,400-square-foot house and a two-bedroom guest house at 262 Cordova Road and a 3,500-square-foot, five-bedroom house at 256 Cordova Road. The estate also has two pools.
It hit the market asking $12.6 million in November, Zillow shows. Simon Isaacs with Simon Isaacs Real Estate had the listing.
