South Florida’s top deals: Garbage magnate drops $78M on oceanfront Palm Beach manse

Anthony Lomangino and 260 North Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach

🏆 Residential: The top home sale recorded in South Florida was in Palm Beach, where Anthony Lomangino, a waste management magnate and Trump appointee, and his wife, Lynda Lomangino, purchased an oceanfront mansion at 260 North Ocean Boulevard for $76.7 million. The sellers were Harvey and Mary Ann Kinzelberg; Harvey Kinzelberg is the founder of Sequel Capital. The home spans 10,700 square feet and has five bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, one half bath, a pool and private beach, according to property records. It was built in 1930 and sits on a 2-acre lot. Christian Angle with Christian Angle Real Estate represented both sides of the deal.

📊Residential: In Boca Raton, a single-family waterfront home at 336 East Key Palm Road sold for $17.3 million. The sellers were Robert and Kristine Edwards, who purchased the property in 2014 for $8.8 million, and the buyer was Candace Voorhees Clark. The latest transaction works out to more than $1,900 per square foot. The residence spans almost 8,900 square feet; it has six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, two half baths, an elevator, a four-car garage, a summer kitchen and a pool. It went on the market in March with an asking price of $17.5 million. David Roberts with Royal Palm Properties had the listing, and Louise Buehler with Douglas Elliman brought the buyer.

📊Residential: An LLC managed by Jill Bernstein parted with two lots at 7621 South Flagler Drive, which has two properties on it, and 101 Alhambra Place, which has another house on it, in West Palm Beach for $15.5 million. Combined, the lots span 1.8 acres. The buyer was LMT Investments LLC. Burton Minkoff with Douglas Elliman had the listing.

📊Residential: Paul and Alysa Stafford paid $9.7 million for a home at 12423 Banyan Road in North Palm Beach. The sellers were Eric and Stefani Gioia, who purchased the property in 2020 for $6.8 million or nearly $1,700 per square foot. The nearly 6,000-square-foot home sits on a 1.3-acre estate and has five bedrooms and six and a half baths. It also has a five-car garage, private dock and pool. It first hit the market in June 2024 for $16 million. Denice Sexton with Lost Tree Realty represented the sellers.

By the Numbers: Data center spending surges as AI demand reshapes construction

As the rise of artificial intelligence accelerates infrastructure and energy needs, data centers continue to gain ground in construction spending.

Spending on data center construction in October was 18.4 percent higher compared to the same time last year, and the highest year-over-year growth among the major non-residential asset classes, according to a TRD Data analysis of the most recent data available from the U.S. Census Bureau.
