More than a week after inaccurate reports surfaced that Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan were in contract on an off-market Indian Creek Island estate, it appears the couple is merely eyeing the island’s only on-market listing, a 2-acre spec estate asking $200 million.
The Meta CEO and his wife are in talks regarding the under-construction mansion at 7 Indian Creek Island Road, according to an updated story from the Wall Street Journal. Owners Dr. Aaron Rollins, a cosmetic surgeon and inventor of AirSculpt, and his wife, Marine Rollins, listed the estate for $200 million in November. Marine Rollins did not respond to a request for comment for this story.
Danny and Jill Hertzberg with the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Realty have the listing. They declined to comment for this story.
A media frenzy exploded around the billionaire couple when the Wall Street Journal reported they were in contract to buy the newly completed Indian Creek Island mansion of Jersey Mike’s Subs founder Peter Cancro and his wife, Tatiana Cancro. The purported deal was touted as another victory for Florida in the Sunshine vs. Golden State battle for billionaires, and a sign that California’s proposed 5 percent wealth tax was driving out its richest residents.
But multiple market insiders confirmed to The Real Deal that the Cancros are not selling their estate, a revelation that triggered a hunt for Zuckerberg and Chan’s true target.
With the 7 Indian Creek Island Road compound identified, it remains unclear how seriously the couple is considering the purchase or whether it would involve a relocation to Florida. The estate would likely not be completed until mid-2027 at the earliest. A move at that time would not spare them from the multi-billion dollar tax bill they would get if California voters in November approve the wealth tax, which would apply to assets held as of Jan. 1, 2026.
