Retired baseball pro Derek Jeter knocked it out of the park with the sale of his Coral Gables home.

The former New York Yankees shortstop sold his seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion at 7275 Old Cutler Road for $13.2 million, The Real Deal has learned. The 8,200-square-foot house sits on nearly an acre just outside of the gated Cocoplum neighborhood.

Jeter, via a Delaware LLC, paid $6.5 million for the home in 2018, which means the property just sold for more than double that amount. It was on the market with Alex Pirez’s Mocca Realty, most recently asking $14.9 million. Compass agent Maurice Boschetti represented the buyer.

Jeter, a hall of famer and five-time World Series champion, set team records during his 20-year career with the Yankees with the most hits, doubles and games played. Jeter headed to Miami in 2017 when he became CEO and part owner of the Miami Marlins, a role he held until 2022.

In 2021, Jeter and his wife, Hannah, sold their waterfront estate in Tampa for $22.5 million, then a record for the Tampa Bay region. The property, on the Davis Islands, had been rented to Tom Brady and his then-wife, model and businesswoman Gisele Bündchen.

The Old Cutler Road home includes a pool, basketball court, summer kitchen and outdoor entertaining areas. The house also has a primary suite, a chef’s kitchen, wine cellar, office and elevator. It was built in 2004.

The LLC linked to Jeter paid $16.6 million in 2021 for a double-lot nearby in Gables Estates, where he is building a waterfront mansion, records show.

Coral Gables has seen a big increase in home prices at the very high end amid a flurry of ultra luxury sales. Last month, University of Miami booster John Ruiz listed his waterfront Gables Estates mansion for $175 million, marking the second most expensive listing in Miami-Dade. Last year, luxury homebuilder Alex Pirez sold his waterfront Gables Estates mansion for $55 million, and in a separate sale, billionaire businessman Jorge Mas recently purchased a mansion in the same gated community for $75 million, a source previously told TRD.
