South Florida’s top deals: Randal Kirk sells oceanfront manse for $63M — half off original ask

🏆 Residential: Billionaire Randal Kirk, who founded the venture firm Third Security, sold an ocean-front mansion at 820 South Ocean Boulevard for $62.5 million — more than 53 percent off his original asking price of $134 million. Kirk purchased the 2.3-acre estate, which has a 15,500-square-foot main house and a 4,800-square-foot guest house, in 2011 for $25.5 million. The buyer in the latest deal was Westview Holdings LLC. Margit Brandt with Premier Estate Properties had the listing, which went live in September. Serhant’s Gary Pohrer brought the buyer.

🏆 Commercial: An LLC tied to Arroyo Capital, based in Irvine, California, paid $21.7 million for a shuttered golf course once known as the Cypress Creek Golf Club at 9302 and 9400 South Military Trail in Boynton Beach, the top commercial deal to hit records in South Florida. The seller was True Shot LLC, managed by William Marcacci and Thomas Lynch. The site measures about 118 acres. At one point, Toll Brothers planned a housing development on the site, but it is unclear if those plans are moving forward.

📊 Residential: A Spanish-style estate at 4197 South Douglas Road in Miami traded for $15.6 million. The 6,800-square-foot property, built in the 1920s, has seven bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms across a main house and a gate house. It sits on a 2.6-acre lot. The sellers were Gerald Katcher, a banker, and Dr. Jane Katcher, a retired pediatric radiologist. The buyer as a trust.

📊 Residential: Brian and Jennifer Coulter shed a home at 566 Palm Way in Gulf Stream for $11.8 million. The buyers were Meredith and James Baker. The Coulters had owned the home since 2015, when they purchased it for $3.5 million. The residence spans 4,300 square feet and has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The sale breaks down to about $2,700 per square foot. The Pascal Liguori Estate Group with Premier Estate Properties had the listing, and Nick Malinosky with Douglas Elliman represented the buyers,

📊 Residential: In Miami, Mathias Mamou-Mani, managing partner of investment management firm DBi, and his wife, Muriel Mamou-Mani, purchased a home at 575 Hibiscus Lane for $9.6 million. The seller was Claudia Aros, a real estate agent, who paid $2.7 million for the property in 2018. The 3,800-square-foot property has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Its most recent asking price was $10.9 million. Ana Teresa Rodriguez  with ATR Luxury Homes with Coldwell Banker Realty had the listing.
