Foreclosed marina on the block

The New River Marina, a family owned and operated boatyard in Fort Lauderdale, is now under the control of its largest creditor, 84 Marina LLC. New owner Alex Nichols plans to continue running the marina as he seeks a buyer. A bankruptcy auction of the boatyard in July ended with allegations that a bankruptcy crime might have occurred. The appearance of a last-minute bidder raised questions about the authenticity and the legitimacy of the auction that ended without a sale.
