The increasing Hispanic population in Palm Beach County has prompted Presidente Supermarket to undertake a multimillion-dollar renovation of an empty Lake Worth Albertson’s in order to capture market share. Miami-based Presidente paid more than $1.9 million for the store and will spend extra millions to prepare it for a mid-2010 opening. The company also plans to open a second Palm Beach County location the 1300 block of North Dixie Highway in Lake Worth in the next two months, Miami contractor Joe Valls said. [Palm Beach Post]
