A Fort Myers condo made famous for having just one resident in its 32
stories is now beginning to draw a crowd. For two years, Victor
Vangelakos was the only resident at the Oasis condominium, but now has
dozens of new residents joining him. “I’m coming there at the end of the
month for just two days,” said Vangelakos, who is a firefighter in
Weehawken, N.J. Vangelakos is still involved in litigation against the
project’s developer, seeking to have his deposit returned and to be let
out of his 2008 purchase. Oasis was helped by a bulk sale of 224 units
at the complex’s Tower 2 in February, meaning it is now 70 percent sold,
according to Wendy Payton-Enriquez, a spokesperson for the Related
Group, which is still handling sales and managing the project. [Miami
