FPL eyeing 28 percent rate hike

Florida Power & Light is considering a base rate increase of as much as 28 percent for businesses, the Palm Beach Post reported. According to the utility, less than one percent of large businesses would see that increase, however. Earlier this year, FPL filed a request for a rate increase on its residential customers. The company said the increase will be used to help construct its new $1 billion power plant in Cape Canaveral. [Palm Beach Post]
