Former Carib Theater wins approval for retail

Miami Beach’s historic preservation board approved plans to convert a former Art Deco theater on Lincoln Road into a multi-level retail space designed by architect Luis Revuelta.

The Carib Theater, designed by architects Michael DeAngelis and Roy France, has been boarded up for decades.

The theater opened in 1950 to great fanfare because of its state-of-the-art moving ceiling, according to exMiami.
