The acclaimed director and his Academy Award-winning wife Catherine Martin are collaborating with Argentinian developer Alan Faena on the repositioning of the former Saxony Hotel as part of the larger mixed-use development planned for several blocks along Collins Avenue. Luhrmann directed and appears in a promotional video for the project. During the short video produced by Tandem Pictures, Luhrmann and Faena discuss the developer’s overall vision for that section of Miami Beach.

Luhrmann, who most recently directed “The Great Gatsby,” and Martin were part of an A-list dinner at the Faena site during Art Basel Miami Beach. The event attracted real estate heavyweights like New York’s Robert Futterman. — Eric Kalis
