A new nightclub slated to open this month in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District will create 50 to 100 new jobs, according to the owner.

The club, dubbed HOUSE, took six years and nearly $10 million dollars in real estate to complete, but is now slated to open on May 16, owner Mark Lowe, told the South Florida Business Journal. The club plans to employ contortionists, opera singers, drag artists, aerialists and other performance artists.

Lowe hopes to eventually bring 10 nightclubs, 10 restaurants and 10 hotels to the area, despite facing years of hurdles.

“It is a project that has been dragged through the mud across the board, and targeted relentlessly,” Lowe said. “As an entrepreneur, you take risks and fight for your business concept.” [SFBJ]Christopher Cameron
