Palm Beach County commissioners approved massive development Minto West, which will rise on Loxahatchee-area farmland.

The project can now bring 4,500 new homes to the area. Plans also call for 2 million square feet of space, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

However, many locals opposed the plans, mostly over concerns that traffic will worsen.

“Change is going to happen and it’s not comfy for anybody,” County Commissioner Shelley Vana said. “Something was going to come there no matter what.”
