Developer Henry Torres lists his Coral Gables home for $14M

Developer Henry Torres has listed his Journey’s End home in Coral Gables for $13.95 million.

Torres is CEO of the Astor Companies, which is currently developing InTown in the Little Havana area of Miami, Merrick Manor in Coral Gables and Nordica in the Roads area of Miami. The company has completed such projects as Gateway to the Grove and Brickell Vista.

Torres’ home, at 9405 Old Cutler Lane, has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms and two half-baths. The 12,636-square-foot home sits on two acres, with a gate, at the end of cul de sac. It is one of 18 estates in Journey’s End, an exclusive, guard-gated community, said Ben Moss, managing director of the sports and entertainment division of One Sotheby’s International Realty, which has the listing.

Torres paid $6.4 million for the home in July 2002, according to Miami-Dade property records. It was built in 1999 and was designed by architect Jeffrey Howard, Moss told The Real Deal. The estate fronts a canal, and has a large, grassy area and a 60-foot banyan tree, he said.

“When you look at the property, you feel like you are in a resort, in terms of how manicured the residence is, with a babbling brook and a koi pond,” Moss said.

The home also features an expansive master suite with a sitting room and private balcony, a pool and a 10-person spa. The estate also has a 28-foot ceiling in the foyer, a media room, sun room, two wet bars, a lounge, an open kitchen/billiards room/family room and an elevator.

“It’s an amazing home for entertaining,” Moss said.
