D.R. Horton starts pre-selling Fort Myers community

The Southwest Florida Division of residential builder D.R. Horton launched preconstruction sales and opened a model for its gated Westwood Place community in Fort Myers with 28 homes.

The location of Westwood Place on Winkler Road south of Summerlin Road is close to the beaches of Sanibel Islands and Fort Myers Beach. D.R. Horton is offering six single-family floor plans for homes there starting at $399,990.

The one- and two-story homes will range in living area from 2,540 square feet to 4,377 square feet, with three to five bedrooms as many as four and a half baths and garages big enough for two or three cars.

Home design features available for individual home plans include a café, den, breakfast nook, loft or formal dining room, depending on individual plan preferences.

The newly opened model, a 2,583-square-foot home at 8705 Westwood Oaks Place in Fort Myers, is open seven days a week for viewing.
