    Michael Janoura’s Janoura Realty just bought a Deerfield Beach shopping center from Divito Enterprises for $13.95 million, marking the company’s second retail trade in South Florida in two months.

    County records show Janoura bought the Village Mart Shopping Center, a 73,000-square-foot retail strip at 718, 784 and 814 South Federal Highway that was built in the 1970s on six acres of land. The deal breaks down to $191 per square foot. [more]

    The city of Deerfield Beach will decide whether to loosen development rules to permit construction of a five-story apartment complex in a thinly developed corridor of Dixie Highway.

    Pompano Beach-based developer Henri Hage wants to construct the five-story, 308-unit apartment complex on a lot in the southwest corner of Deerfield Beach, between Southwest 14 and 15 streets. [more]

    Boca Raton-based Group P6 has sold five of nine units at the Fordham, a boutique condominium under construction in Deerfield Beach. The remaining unsold units include a penthouse priced at $550,000.

    Group P6 broke ground in January for the Fordham at 51 Southeast 19 Avenue in Deerfield Beach, one block from the Atlantic Ocean. Construction was expected to take 12 months. [more]

    A Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel in Palm Beach

    City commissioners approved plans to develop a 101-room Marriott-Fairfield hotel next to a DoubleTree hotel on Hillsboro Technology Drive.

    The city commission took action to increase from 10,000 square feet to 15,000 square feet the permissible amount of commercial space on the 74-acre site of the planned Fairfield Inn & Suites, part of the Marriott family of hotel brands.

    It is the third 100-plus-room project in the hotel development pipeline in Deerfield Beach.

    The Deerfield Beach building where the South Florida daily newspaper Sun Sentinel keeps its printing press just sold to an affiliate of the Gramercy Property Trust for $25.5 million.

    Located at 333 Southwest 12th Avenue, the industrial building houses some of the Sentinel’s offices and its printing equipment. It measures 381,749 square feet and was sold by Tribune Media, the newspaper’s landlord and former parent company of the Sun Sentinel’s owner, Tribune Publishing. [more]
