Last year’s housing market paled in comparison to the banner year that was 2021, but Douglas Elliman’s top brokers have plenty to celebrate.

The brokerage’s 2023 Ellie Awards, which celebrate its top brokers and teams by gross commission income, volume and team size, were dominated by some familiar names. Two teams made their second straight appearances in The Billion Dollar Club, a category debuted last year with three teams reaching over $1 billion in sales for the first time ever.

The Eklund-Gomes Team, led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes, topped $4 billion in sales for the second straight year and cleared the mark alongside The Altman Brothers Team, led by Joshua and Matthew Altman.

The only team that made The Billion Dollar Club last year that didn’t make it this year was The Alexander Team. Brokers Tal and Oren Alexander left Elliman last year to form their own firm called Official, backed by the white-label firm Side.

Also returning to a top spot for the second year in a row was was Miami Beach-based Dina Goldentayer, who was named top agent nationwide and in Florida.

Elliman’s awards didn’t include national sales figures, as the company is slated to report fourth-quarter and full-year earnings on Friday.

In Manhattan, the firm did slightly better than 2021 on the sell-side, bringing in over $6.4 billion across 2,842 deals and finishing second in The Real Deal’s residential brokerage ranking.

The Eklund-Gomes Team was not considered for the Ellies before the 2021 honors, but has since been included since the advent of team awards by size as the only “mega” sized team.

The top large team nationwide by GCI and volume was the Altman team, followed in both categories by The Holly Parker Team. The Rubin Team finished third in GCI and fourth in volume, while the Noble Black Team finished fourth in GCI and third in volume.

The Teixeira Team lead medium teams nationwide, followed by the Leavitt McIntosh Team and The Maria Babaev Team in GCI and volume.
