The Kushner clan keeps benefitting from its connections to President-elect Donald Trump.
Family patriarch Charles Kushner was selected to serve as the next United States ambassador to France, Trump announced Saturday.
“Charlie is the Founder & Chairman of Kushner Companies, one of the largest & most successful privately held Real Estate firms in the Nation,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post announcing the selection.
Kushner was pardoned by Trump in 2020, after serving a prison sentence following a conviction on federal charges.
The appointment to US ambassador to France comes as son Jared Kushner has stayed away from taking an official position in the Trump administration, following his role as senior advisor to his father-in-law during Trump’s first four years in office.
Overall, Kushner Companies’ total worth has nearly tripled since 2016, following Trump’s rise to power and Jared Kushner’s high-profile position in the White House.
The company has reached a valuation of $2.9 billion, up from a $1 billion worth eight years ago, Forbes reported, meaning it has now outstripped that of Trump’s real estate empire, which is worth $2.2 billion.
