NFL quarterback Tyrod Taylor is surveying the field for prospective homebuyers as he looks to offload his Atlanta-area mansion.
Taylor, who plays for the New York Jets, has listed his 15,000-square-foot estate in Roswell for $5 million, or roughly $333 per square foot, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported. Matthew Doyle and David Goodrowe of Compass’ Sports & Entertainment Division have the listing.
Taylor bought the house, at 570 Stonemoor Circle, in 2019 for $2.4 million, $160 per square foot.
Taylor, a Virginia native entering his 14th season, is testing the market amid a resurgence for Atlanta’s luxury housing market. Home sales of $2.5 million or higher increased by 24 percent year-over-year in the metro last quarter, according to First Multiple Listing Service. Sales priced between $1 million and $2.5 million rose by 30 percent from a year prior.
Taylor’s estate, spanning 2 acres and built in 2006, was recently renovated by Infinite Home and designer Ashleigh Chalice. The house has seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
Notable design elements include a two-story foyer with a sweeping staircase, a steel and glass-enclosed wine cellar, and an elevator. The second floor features a gallery walk and reading loft, connecting to a full in-laws apartment or au-pair suite with a full kitchen, and four bedroom suites.
The primary bedroom suite offers a fireplace and a bathroom with a soaking tub and its own fireplace, dual vanities, heated floors and steam shower. The family room has a fireplace, built-in bookshelves and access to a heated porch and outdoor kitchen.
The property also features a four-car garage, a billiards room, a humidor room and a wellness center with a private gym, sauna and bathroom. The backyard comprises a saltwater pool, jacuzzi, waterfall, fire pit and a sports court.
There have been several eye-popping home sales so far this year in Atlanta, including a record-setting $20 million transaction in the Bucktown area’s Tuxedo Park neighborhood. A pair of NFL defensive ends, one current and one former, also struck a deal in Bucktown last month, resulting in a nearly $5 million sale.
