A sprawling Mooresville estate on Lake Norman has hit the market, and it’s tied as the most expensive residential listing in the Charlotte area.

The 5.9-acre property at 139 Hollen Lane — roughly 30 miles north of Charlotte — carries a price tag of $22 million, the Charlotte Business Journal reported. Lauren Hart of Hart Real Estate Group is the listing agent.

The main house spans more than 12,800 square feet, and the price comes to more than $1,700 per square foot. It has 10 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, a two-story great room, two fireplaces, a large game room with a wet bar and a wine cellar. Outside are more than 2,000 square feet of outdoor porches, two outdoor kitchens, a pool, fire pit and a beach.

The property also includes a four-bedroom guest house and a smaller dwelling with nine kennels and dog runs.

A Florida-based LLC called Tappan Real Estate Investors is the owner, according to Iredell County records. The LLC is linked to Bruce and Cynthia Cassidy, who bought the site in 2005, the outlet said.

The estate is the same price as another Lake Norman mansion in Huntersville, dubbed Merancas Island, which hit the market in April. The property features a 12,900-square-foot main house, a guest house, tennis courts and two docks. It also has an indoor courtyard with a pool, sunroom, steam shower and sauna.

Elsewhere on Lake Norman, a Cornelius mansion, at 20927 Bethelwood Lane, sold for $6.8 million in July, making it the second-most expensive sale on record in the north Charlotte suburb.

Lake Norman’s luxury market is partly driven by the popularity of NASCAR in the area. Notable racers like Dale Ernhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin live in the area, adding to its appeal among prospective buyers with deep pockets.
