Databricks is growing once again in Bellevue as the artificial intelligence boom spreads across the country.
The data and AI company, headquartered in San Francisco, leased another 37,500 square feet in City Center Bellevue, at 500 108th Avenue Northeast, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported.
The company has more than 110,000 square feet of offices in the region.
Databricks’s Puget Sound presence has grown piece-by-piece in recent years. It has offices in Seattle at the Sixth & Lenora building and in Bellevue at City Center Bellevue. Last year, the company leased at least half a floor at the West8 tower in Seattle, and it snapped up another 45,000 square at West8 earlier this year.
Last fall, Databricks expanded its footprint in City Center Bellevue with an additional 17,600 square feet across two floors. Earlier this year, the company added nearly 18,000 square feet of offices at the tower for a footprint stretching across five floors. The 27-story, 498,600-square-foot building is approximately 90 percent leased.
Down south in the San Francisco Bay Area, the company claimed 150,000 feet of offices in San Francisco alone.
In July, the venture capital-funded company leased 305,000 square feet across all seven floors at 200 Washington Avenue in downtown Sunnyvale, making it the first office tenant at the new Cityline Sunnyvale mixed-use complex. In addition to the 150,000-square-foot lease at 1 Sansome Street, the company also has a 47,000-square-foot office at 351 East Evelyn Avenue in Mountain View, which it opened in 2020.
In the Bellevue and Seattle area, Databricks is hiring for nearly 50 open positions. The company has 20 offices with more than 7,000 employees worldwide.
Office vacancy in the Seattle area’s Eastside rose to 25.7 percent last quarter, per CBRE data cited by the Business Journal. The uptick comes after Microsoft left the Bravern towers in Bellevue, where it occupied nearly 750,000 square feet before its lease expired this year.
