Nevada H&C Distilling will soon roll out the barrels at a new plant in the Las Vegas Arts District.
The Las Vegas-based maker of vodka, bourbon and rye whiskey has filed plans to relocate to a 4.1-acre site at the northwest corner of Wyoming Avenue and Industrial Road, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
The maker of Smoke Wagon Bourbon and Silver Dollar Vodka plans to renovate a nearly 12,000-square-foot building to resemble a Spanish Mission, while building a second building for production or storage.
The move next year from its plant at 418 West Mesquite Avenue, just behind Interstate 515, will nearly triple the size of its operations, co-owner Aaron Chepenik said. The new location also will host a gift shop and tours.
“We don’t have the room for barrels, we don’t have the room to put in an automated bottling line,” Chepenik told the Review-Journal. “There’s hardly any room for me.”
H&C Distilling, founded in 2016, doesn’t plan to add new spirits, but the extra room should allow it to do more barrel aging and limited releases, Chepenik said.
The expanded space will also make it easier for H&C Distilling to produce and store more bottles, as it plans to ship products to more locations across the U.S., as well as export to Europe and Australia, he said.
Distilling operations are expected to start by summer, with tours starting in the fall, Chepenik said. Future expansion on the Arts District site is possible based on demand.
