A Drury Plaza Hotel is coming to the $1 billion Century Farms development that Oldacre McDonald is spearheading in Nashville’s Antioch neighborhood.
St. Louis-based Drury Development Corporation filed plans for a seven-story, 180-key hotel at 3001 Century Farms Circle, the Nashville Business Journal reported.
The hotel will sit on three acres near the Tanger Outlets and a Whataburger, which recently opened. The Century Farms project has been under development for a few years. Already delivered are the headquarters of Major League Soccer team Nashville SC, an HCA Healthcare emergency room and 1,200 apartments.
Oldacre McDonald bought the site, about 10 miles southwest of downtown, for $5.5 million, roughly $18,500 per acre, in 2015.
Projects in the pipeline include Tiger Woods’ PopStroke golf entertainment venue, hundreds more multifamily units and at least four hotels.
Triumph Hospitality is planning a two-hotel project just a few lots over, which will bring 400 keys under the Hampton Inn, Home2 Suites, Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites brands. That project took a step forward last August when Triumph acquired the final piece of land from Oldacre McDonald.
Drury Plaza hotel is the firm’s more upscale brand.
The hospitality picture in Nashville is vibrant and expanding, with significant investments and developments underway, such as the 25-story VOCE Hotel and Residences at 1717 Hayes Street in Midtown. The city has also seen high-profile acquisitions, including Bill Gates’ purchase of the 168-key Dream Hotel, at 210 4th Avenue North in downtown, for $82.6 million or $492,000 per room, in June of last year.
The Four Seasons Nashville, which opened at 100 Demonbreun Street downtown in 2022, added to the city’s luxury hotel offerings with its 235 hotel rooms and 144 condos.
