UCF football coach Gus Malzahn and his wife, Kristi, have sold their Winter Park mansion just one day after listing it.
The buyers, whose identities have not been disclosed, are under contract to pay just shy of $6 million for the 7,500-square-foot home at 1460 Via Tuscany, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The price comes out to roughly $795 per square foot.
Brandon Geers of Compass served as the listing agent. Geers attributed the swift sale to aggressive marketing and strategic pricing.
The couple purchased the home in March 2021 for $4.2 million, or $554 per square foot, when Malzahn was named head coach of the Knights. The property’s jump in value reflects a hot housing market in the Orlando area, Geers said.
Limited inventory in the Orlando metro’s luxury housing market contributed to a number of eye-popping sales last year, including a record-setting $35 million transaction in Isleworth. Two homes in Winter Park, which is about 15 minutes north of Orlando, sold in the $7 million ballpark last year.
The Malzahns aren’t moving far. They purchased another home just a few blocks away, opting to downsize.
“This is a lot of house for them, and it’s just the two of them,” Geers told the outlet.
The house, built in 2009 by Winter Brothers Construction, has five bedrooms in the main house and a guest suite above the garage. It sits on a little more than a half-acre lot. The home is adorned with rare Italian Calacatta Gold marble countertops, pecky cypress beams, solid oak floors and multiple fireplaces.
The kitchen, a key selling point, is equipped with high-end appliances. The backyard features an outdoor kitchen and a Hamptons-style pool surrounded by hedges for privacy.
Gus Malzahn is going into his fourth season at UCF, which joined the Big 12 Conference in 2023.
