Tuna Group has won approval to build a 10.2-acre luxury home development in Paradise Valley, Arizona’s wealthiest town.

The Scottsdale developer was approved by the Town Council to build the homes on a graded swath on Quail Run Road, south of Lincoln Drive and west of Scottsdale Road, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.

Plans by Tuna Group Managing Partner Gordon Berry call for dividing the property into eight lots from 1 to 1.3 acres each and building homes starting at 8,500 square feet. He said it was too soon to determine the architectural style and prices at the development to be dubbed Quail Run.

He’s now putting together a team of architects, designers, consultants and builders for the boutique luxury project.

“We want to do some special things that have never been done before in the town,” Berry told the Business Journal. “We’re trying to make this the crown jewel of Paradise Valley.”

He expects high-net-worth buyers who may be  looking for a winter home in Arizona. He’s also open to combining lots if a buyer wants a larger estate.

The Quail Run project took two years to gain approval, as it initially was opposed by neighbors concerned about traffic. Berry said he redirected traffic so that access into Quail Run will come from the north, rather than the south, mitigating their concerns.

Tuna Group is also developing another Paradise Valley project approved last year. The luxury development near Invergordon Road and Mockingbird Lane will feature 12 luxury homes starting at $11 million, according to the Business Journal.

In May, an 18,500-square-foot mansion in Paradise Valley sold for an area-record $23.5 million.  The previous record for a residential sale in Paradise Valley, north of Scottsdale, was $21 million, set in 2022.
