Amazon leases another Phoenix-area warehouse for additional 1.1M sf

Jeff Bezos-led giant reigns as state’s second-largest employer

Jeff Bezos and West 202 Logistics

Amazon is adding to its warehouse collection in Greater Phoenix.

The Jeff Bezos-led e-commerce giant has leased a nearly 1.1-million-square-foot building at the West 202 Logistics industrial site west of downtown, the Phoenix Business Journal reported. The building’s address at the northeast corner of North 59th Avenue and West Van Buren Street is not immediately available.

West 202 Logistics consists of eight buildings totaling 3.4 million square feet across 183 acres near the I-10 and Loop 202 interchange. The property was developed by Newport Beach, California-based CapRock Partners. The first phase of the development totals approximately 2.5 million square feet and was completed in 2023. That portion is currently 85 percent leased.

Amazon will lease the largest building at the development. Other buildings range in size from 227,107 to 901,711 square feet, according to the Business Journal. The complex’s second-largest tenant, electronics manufacturer Peopleworks, leases 532,713 square feet — about half of Amazon’s expected footprint.

In 2025, Amazon was the second-largest employer in Arizona, boasting approximately 40,000 employees in the Grand Canyon State. The company currently leases several million square feet across nearly 40 facilities for warehousing and distribution operations throughout the Phoenix metro area. Of those properties, Amazon leases several large-scale warehouses that are more than 1 million square feet in size.

In the West Valley, where West 202 Logistics is located, Amazon occupies 1.2 million square feet in The Cubes at Glendale industrial park in Glendale, another 1.2-million-square-foot space at Prologis 303 business park in Goodyear and a 1-million-square-foot building at Paloma Vista Logistics Center in Buckeye. In the East Valley, Amazon occupies a 1.2-million-square-foot storage and distribution facility in Mesa among other facilities in the area.

Those facilities dwarf some of Amazon’s record-setting leases in other metro areas. Last year, Amazon leased a 615,000-square-foot warehouse in Commerce, California —  the largest industrial deal in the Los Angeles market in the fourth quarter of last year.
