The bar for Sarasota’s luxury housing market just got higher.
Curtis Jordan and Paige Petersen sold their 5,900-square-foot unit in the Epoch, a bayfront condo building on South Gulfstream Avenue, for $11.35 million, or roughly $1,938 per square foot. Douglas Elliman’s Lisa Rooks Morris brokered the deal.
It’s the priciest home sale ever in downtown Sarasota, topping an $11.15 transaction last year for a penthouse in the same building.
Jordan and Petersen initially listed their full-floor unit for $11.95 million in February. They purchased the four-bedroom condo for $7.2 million, $1,230 per square foot, in 2021, while the building was under construction. The 23-unit Epoch was completed that year; it was developed by Seaward Development.
The buyers are Dona and Sam Scott III, Mansion Global reported, citing PropertyShark records. Sam Scott is a retired chairman of Corn Products International, and Dona Scott is involved in education and youth nonprofits.
The condo features a wrap-around terrace, bespoke Italian cabinetry by Cucine Ricci, built-in speakers in every room and a private three-car garage.
Fresh off the sale, Jordan and Petersen have turned around and made another splash in the luxury housing realm, this time single-family. They recently paid $9.5 million for a four-bedroom 5,700-square-foot house in the nearby Indian Beach/Sapphire Shores neighborhood, near the historic Ca’ d’Zan estate. Morris was the listing agent for that property, as well.
That price marks the priciest residential transaction in Indian Beach since 2006, when a three-house estate on Bay Shore Road sold for $12 million.
The Indian Beach mansion sits on 1.58 acres and offers over 200 feet of bay frontage. The property features an elevator, a saltwater pool and spa, a koi pond, an outbuilding and a three-car garage.
Jordan is a film producer and former rowing coach for Princeton University and several Olympic teams.
