A growing number of young couples in Brooklyn driven out by high prices are checking out the Jackson Heights Historic District, a former “garden city” where prices are still reasonable. The block-long, five- and six-story buildings built mostly between 1917 and the 1950s almost all cooperatives with a handful of rentals are known for their hidden courtyards and boulevard sidewalks, among other charms.
