Rent-controlled apartments disappear

The city lost a net of 4,700 rent-stabilized apartments in 2004, according to a Rent Guidelines Board report released Thursday. More than 13,000 rent-stabilized apartments vanished last year, mostly after they became vacant, but an additional 8,000 were created.more [NYDN]
