Jets’ West Side stadium bid may end Wednesday

The far West Side stadium brouhaha that enthralled a chunk of the city for several weeks earlier this year may end Wednesday in an unremarkable coda. The New York Jets, the NFL franchise that wanted to build on the old rail yards owned by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, missed a deadline last week to declare whether it wanted to go ahead with the development. Because of that, the MTA at its monthly meeting this Wednesday may terminate its agreement to sell the Jets the development rights to the rail yards. more [NYT]
